About the Artist

Native to the Wind River region, Shannon Watts was born and raised in Riverton, Wyoming. Shannon followed the Rocky Mountains south and finished his education in Denver, Colorado. While attending college at the Colorado Institute of Art, he received special recognition for some of his pieces and earned a nomination for best portfolio. After finishing his degree, Shannon worked as a graphic designer at The Illustrator, an advertising agency in Laramie, Wyoming. Currently, Shannon is the General Manager and a graphic artist for the Webwright, a subsidiary of wyoming.com. He has returned to Riverton, to the local wildlife and scenery that first inspired him. Although he is talented in many different aspects of design, his passion is wildlife illustration.
